first at 7:00 we begin with breaking news out of montgomery county where police put out an amber alert for this 15-month- old girl. the father took farah eva muhammed from her mother's home. >> he was last seen driving a white hyundai santa fe with temporary maryland tags 453577t. police did not say where they might be headed, but if you've seen farah or jason kelly, you're asked to call 911 immediately. we've got their vehicle and photos posted on the wusa9 app so that you can spread the word. we do remain under a yellow weather alert tonight. right now we've got a little lull, but round 2 is on the way. >> chief meteorologist topper

shutt has the latest on our first alert doppler. >> yes indeed, a little lull right around the immediate metro area, but back west we find showers winchester southward, nothing crazy heavy, but enough that i'd bring an umbrella. out toward winchester south you see the yellows and reds, so some moderate rainfall. it's on your doorstep in warrenton and not far from culpeper. it's moving off essentially to the east, so it will be in culpeper here shortly, not moving that fast, maybe 7:12 and maybe all the way into town as we get into about the 10:55 time frame, maybe even into fairfax around 10:00. so again nothing severe, but just expect some more showers and a few isolated storms till about 9:00 or 10:00 tonight. notice the yellows and oranges are staying well south into fredericksburg. 9:00 hour mainly just green, light showers, and by 10:00 just light showers manassas southward. if you're going to walk the dog

tonight, take an umbrella and also maybe a little light jacket, 65 at 10:00 in gaithersburg. we'll come back, talk about how cool it's going to get behind the cold front and look ahead to the weekend. we had to issue another yellow weather alert. we'll tell you which day. >> thank you, topper. the fairfax county sheriff's department has released video of the in custody death of jail inmate natosha mckenna who was tased four times. deputies who were wearing biohazard suits were trying to remove mckenna from her cell last february. she had a history of mental illness and fiercely resisted the deputies. after several minutes of struggling they forced her into a restraint chair. that didn't work so, finally deputies began tasing her. >> don't kick, trust me of don't kick. it's for -- trust me. don't kick. it's for your own good. let me just put you in the chair, please. >> taser. good? >> mckenna was tased twice on her legs and arms. she stopped fighting. a nurse checked her vital signs

and said she was fine, but moments later mckenna had no pulse. deputies began cpr, but she died at the hospital. prosecutors later determined the deputies did act lawfully. the fairfax county sheriff says she's pushing for a jail diversion program for people suffering from mental illness so they can get help instead of incarceration. new tonight a man accused of sexually assaulting a girl before her birthday party, police say 40-year-old luis cruz aguilar was helping the victim's family set up for her birthday party in laurel. he's accused of luring that little girl into another room where he assaulted her and then left. he was tracked down and arrested this morning at a job site in baltimore county and as it turns out, cruz aguilar had an outstanding warrant for a sexual assault on a 13-year-old girl five years ago. a sterling, virginia, man is accused of sexually abusing a child at a daycare that was operating inside his home and tonight police are worried there could be more victims.

>> reporter: i'm surae chinn in sterling. i'm told that the suspect's sister-in-law runs the daycare inside the townhouse and it's still operating. child protective services has not shut it down, but they're still investigating. no one at the home daycare at 3 carousel court in sterling wanted to talk about the situation. >> step off our property right now. >> reporter: i understand. the loudoun county county sheriff's office said the victim reported to police immediately after the alleged incident on august 27th. the next day 52-year-old juan alejandro rodriguez was charged with sexual assault and forcible sodomy. neighbors are stunned. >> i'm very shocked because i didn't know something like that was happening right next-door. >> and really scary because i have four girls in my house. >> reporter: authorities are not giving the age to protect the identity of the child, but the victim is under the age of 13 years old. in sterling, surae chinn, wusa9.

>> rodriguez is being held without bond. arlington police are hoping someone recognizes this car. they say the driver ran over a toddler in a mcdonald's parking lot and kept going. the incident happened sunday, august 30th, at columbia pike and walter reed drive. surveillance video caught the suspect hitting the 2-year-old, stopping to let family members pull him from underneath the car and then driving off. the child survived. the car is described as a four door silver colored cadillac sedan. if you recognize it or you know the driver, please call arlington police. the dad of the reporter killed live on tv made an emotional plea on capitol hill today. andy parker said he's ready to take on the gun lobby. >> we, can we must and we will. demonstrators outside the capitol hoping congress would hear their message to enact tougher gun laws. >> if i weren't doing this, she'd be really ticked off at me of because she wanted the -- me because she wanted the story. she wanted the story told. she was a journalist first and foremost. >> parker has some key virginia politicians, governor mcauliffe and tim kaine voiced their support today. trials for the six police officers charged in freddie gray's death will stay in baltimore. demonstrators hugged and chanted after the judge ruled the officers can get fair trials in the city where they face charges. the judge rejected arguments that jurors would be intimidated and afraid of riots if the officers are acquitted. today baltimore's mayor said keeping the trials in baltimore will help the city heal and the police department is ready for whatever happens. >> we have new equipment,

improved training and better communications. those have been tested and have shown the progress that we want to see in making sure that we get this right for the people of baltimore. >> each of the six officers will have their own trial and their charges range from assault to second degree murder. it is now minus 12 days till pope francis arrives in d.c. and that means security in the nation's capital is about to get beefed up even more. >> today we got more information on what we can expect when francis is in town. ellison barber tells us what the city is doing and how you can prepare. >> reporter: the mayor says the city is well prepared and ready for this event. officials say when you're thinking about how to prepare for the pope's visit from security to visitors to traffic, you should think of something like the presidential inauguration. >> we are extremely excited. >> reporter: in 12 days pope francis will step off of a plane at andrews air force base and make his first u.s. visit.

as we approach the 14th anniversary of the september 11th attacks, the pentagon has announced a new visitor center where americans can learn about the tragic day. the pentagon memorial fund unveiled this site today as a preview of what's to come. the proposed site is next to the actual crash location. the pentagon is the only 9/11 attack site that does not have a have to explain what happened the day 184 people were killed there. loved ones marked the opening of the night 93 visitor center.

the complex sits on the hill overlooking the crash site where 40 people died in shanksville. it tells the story is of the men and women who over-- the story of the men and women who overtook the hijackers on that flight. more than 1 million trucks joined the recall list today because of air bag problems. fiat chrysler says a short circuit could cause the driver's side air bags to suddenly inflate even when there's no crash. the company knows of two injuries related to the problem and this includes the ram 1500, 2500, 3500 and the pickup truck for model years 2012 through 2014. parents, we know this. it's getting tougher to monitor our kid on the internet. >> you can check their phones for inappropriate photos or videos, but a special app can hide that right under your nose. one of them looks like this, a

so what do you do, keep the lawns pretty and green or keep the residents healthy? the debate over lawn chemicals is growing in montgomery county. scott broom tells us about the options residents could soon face of. >> reporter: there's been a strong move to water down a proposed ban on applying lawn chemicals in montgomery county. one family's beautiful lawn courtesy of chemicals. >> i can't really breathe well.

>> reporter: but for kids like 12-year-old kate tan and her sister angela, one whiff of exposure is an asthma attack waiting to happen. mother lin tan said chemicals ought to be banned here in montgomery county. >> why is someone's lawn more important than the health of people, especially our kids? >> reporter: county council president george leventhal said the time has come to force homeowners to stop using pesticides and herbicides like these and ban commercial applications, too, with exceptions for golf courses and agriculture. >> prohibiting the use of toxic chemicals to maintain a green lawn is consistent with other efforts we've made in the past including banning smoking in public places. >> reporter: and now council member roger berliner is stepping forward and dividing the council with a proposal to back away from the badge. >> so my alternative approach, if -- ban. >> so my alternative approach, if a lawn care company comes to you, i want you to sign a form

saying you understand the risks of pesticide. so educate people first before thinking of a ban. >> reporter: in montgomery county scott broom, wusa9. >> and the county council will pick up the issue early next month. today is a yellow weather alert day. wusa9 first alert weather, d.c.'s most accurate. >> we did have some welcome storms through parts of the metro area. live look outside, kind of a lull right now, our michael and son weather cam, down to 73, dew points dropping, which is a good sign, and the winds north, northwest at 16 indicates the front has long since passed. here's first alert doppler radar over the last hour. you can see kind of a lull inside the immediate metro area but still showers back toward winchester and even out towards sperryville you see a little bit of red and orange, so some brief to moderate downpours. this will essentially move east and lose some of its steam. i think showers will just be

light by the time they get to fairfax on our storm tracker by 10:00 and maybe quantico by 10:10. haymarket a little better chance of moderate to light shower on the storm tracker. that occurs about a quarter to 9:00. if you're walking the dog tonight, you might want a jacket and umbrella. thunderstorms and showers end at midnight and bus stop temperatures in the 60s tomorrow. some areas will be in the 50s if you go out far enough, frederick, damascus, hagerstown. fab finish to the week, but then a yellow weather alert on saturday for more showers and more storms. we talked about that yesterday. we said i was taking the pessimistic view. i'm glad i did that. so futurecast 10:00 tonight notice we lose all the yellows and oranges, just greens. so showers maybe all the way up to leesburg but certainly i-66 southward into fredericksburg. by 10:30, 11:00 everything pushes away and by morning temps in the low 60s, cloudy
